The fire was reported around 1:34 a.m. Thursday at 225 W. 49th St., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The fire began on the second floor of a two-story triplex and spread to the attic of an adjacent one-story dwelling, authorities said.

Around 80 firefighters worked to combat the fire in both buildings, declaring a complete knockdown at 2:10 a.m., the LAFD said.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.

Fire crews remained at the location as of 2:10 a.m. to conduct overhaul work.

Video from the scene shows police officers leading one resident away from the structures as firefighters combat the flames from the roof of the building, utilizing chainsaws, ladders and cranes to extinguish the fire.
