When your wife is a porn star ranked 79th globally for brand recognition, and you could use some extra money, why not tape yourself and sell the product?
That’s apparently the choice of Joseph John Schmidt III.
But now his employer is upset.
“The Coronado-based Naval Special Warfare Command has launched an investigation, and a commissioned officer has been assigned to handle the case,” says The San Diego Union-Tribune of veteran Navy SEAL Schmidt.
The San Diego paper said Schmidt is “Jay Voom, the actor in at least 29 porn flicks during the past seven years, from ‘Apple Smashing Lap Dance’ to ‘Strippers Come Home Horny From the Club.’”
Besides his wife, known as Jewels Jade, the 42-year-old Navy chief special warfare officer has performed with actresses Mena Li and Ashden Wells, the U-T reported.
Jade told the paper: “They knew about it at work. He got called in and they said, ‘Look, keep it on the low, don’t mention the SEAL name and blah, blah, blah.’
“He was always pretty open about it with the command. I mean, honestly, all of his buddies knew about it. Everybody knew about it.”
The Daily Mail picked up the story, reporting that Jade says the films she produced rarely made money, and in order to cut costs, she enlisted her husband to work as an actor.
“What’s creating a problem for Schmidt now is the fact that he didn’t fill out mandatory paperwork seeking clearance from his chain of command to work as a porn actor,” the British tabloid noted.
