A 56-year-old man who was fatally struck by a Metrolink train in Pacoima was identified Wednesday.
Firefighters responded shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday to the 9700 block of San Fernando Road, near Branford Street, to conduct a rescue operation, where they discovered a pedestrian who was struck by a Metrolink train and pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
He was identified Wednesday by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as Marco Martinez, who sustained multiple blunt injuries.
It remains unclear how the victim managed to get struck by the train. No other injuries were reported.
The fatal collision was under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.
