Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman will bestow Courage Awards to a pair of valorous citizens Wednesday morning in Long Beach.
One is a young woman who came forward to tell police she saw her father kill her mother when she was 12, and then withstood threats in helping prosecutors convict him.
The other honoree is a man who witnessed a fatal mobile home arson and helped catch the suspect.
Hochman will be joined by the award recipients and fellow prosecutors at the ceremony to hail individuals “who have shown tremendous courage in extraordinary moments of crisis.”.
“Whether by coming to the aid of crime victims, stepping in to stop a suspect or testifying under duress, these honorees exemplify bravery, compassion and a profound sense of civic responsibility,” according to a statement from Hochman’s office.
