“Avatar: Fire and Ash” is still the top-grossing movie at the box office in its fifth week, clearing another $13.3 million this weekend to lead all films in North America, according to industry estimates released Sunday.

The third film in director James Cameron’s science fiction series has made over $1.3 billion globally, an impressive total but short of the pace of its landmark predecessors. The original “Avatar,” released in 2009, remains the highest grossing film of all time with over $2.9 billion in worldwide box office receipts. The first sequel, 2022’s “Avatar: The Way of Water,” is third all-time with over $2.3 billion.

Second place this weekend went to “28 Years Later: The Bone Temple,” which opened with $13 million, Comscore reported.

“Zootopia 2” continued its impressive run, making $8.7 million in its eighth weekend in theaters.

“The Housemaid” was fourth with $8.5 million Friday through Sunday in its fifth weekend, followed by “Marty Supreme” with $5.4 million in its fifth week.

The horror film “Primate” was sixth with $5 million in its second weekend.

A re-release of director Peter Jackson’s 2001 epic, “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” earned seventh place with $3.5 million.

Fathom Entertainment re-released all three films in Jackson’s award-winning “Rings” trilogy this weekend, and 2002’s “The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers” claimed 10th place with $2.4 million. “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King,” which was released in 2003 and won the Academy Award for best picture, was set for its re-release Sunday.

Also this weekend, “Greenland 2: Migration” took eighth place with $3.3 million in its second week, followed by “Anaconda,” which grossed $3.2 million in its fourth week.
