Disney’s reimagining of the classic “Snow White” and the latest retelling of “War of the Worlds” were among the films landing dubious nominations for the annual Golden Raspberry Awards, or Razzies, which dishonor what voters consider to be the worst in cinema from the past year.

“Snow White” and “War of the Worlds” received nods for worst picture, along with “The Electric State,” “Hurry Up Tomorrow” and “Star Trek: Section 31.”

“War of the Worlds” star Ice Cube was nominated for worst actor, joined in the category by Dave Bautista for “In the Lost Lands,” Scott Eastwood for “Alarum,” Jared Leto of “Tron: Ares” and Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye for “Hurry Up Tomorrow.”

A trio of past Oscar winners were nominated for worst actress — Ariana DeBose for “Love Hurts,” Natalie Portman for “Fountain of Youth” and Michele Yeoh for “Star Trek: Section 31.” Also nominated in the category were Milla Jovovich for “In the Lost Lands” and Rebel Wilson for “Bride Hard.”

“Snow White” and “War of the Worlds” were also nominated in the Razzie category of worst remake/rip-off/sequel, as were “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2” and “Smurfs.”

Overall, “Snow White” and “War of the Worlds” both earned a leading six nominations, while “Hurry Up Tomorrow” and “Star Trek: Section 31” both earned five.

According to organizers, Razzie nominations are voted upon by roughly 1,200 Razzie members — described as movie buffs, film critics and journalists — from 49 states and two dozen foreign countries.

The Razzie nominations are traditionally announced just ahead of Oscar nominations, which are set to be revealed Thursday morning. Razzie winners will be announced March 14, the day before the Oscar ceremony.
