Two people were arrested Sunday during what the Los Angeles Police Department termed the “Academy Awards Operation Period.”
The first arrest was at 3:15 p.m. Sunday on Sunset Boulevard at Highland Avenue, not far from the Dolby Theater, where the Oscars were being held, according to the LAPD. The person was accused of aggressive panhandling, a misdemeanor. A description of the suspect was not provided.
The second person was arrested by a citizen three hours later for allegedly trespassing at 6801 Hollywood Blvd., the LAPD stated. That person’s identity was also undisclosed.
The consequences of the arrests were not immediately made clear by police.
