Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, will take the stage Wednesday evening at SoFi Stadium for the first of two scheduled shows in Inglewood, marking one of his most prominent U.S. performances in years following backlash over past antisemitic remarks.
The 24-time Grammy winner announced last month the two-night residency at the Inglewood venue. The shows are scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday and again Friday.
Ye’s public appearances and large-scale performances in the United States have been relatively rare in recent years after a series of antisemitic statements beginning in 2022 led to the loss of major business relationships and partnerships across the entertainment industry.
The rapper issued an apology in a Wall Street Journal advertisement in January, attributing his past statements in part to untreated bipolar disorder and brain trauma while saying he was committed to accountability and change.
“In early 2025, I fell into a four-month long manic episode of psychotic, paranoid and impulsive behavior that destroyed my life,” he wrote.
His last appearance at SoFi Stadium came alongside Ty Dolla $ign at Rolling Loud in 2024, serving more as a listening session for their album “Vultures 1” than a traditional performance.
This week’s performances come as Ye continues promoting his album “Bully,” which was released last month.
