The run of 15 decreases in 17 days to the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County ended Thursday when it was unchanged, remaining at $4.888.

The average price dropped 8.6 cents during the run, including nine-tenths of a cent Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It is 3.6 cents less than one week ago, 4.2 cents lower than one month ago and $1.449 below what it was one year ago.

The average price has dropped $1.606 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5.

A run of 15 decreases in 18 days totaling 10.4 cents to the Orange County average price ended with an increase of a half-cent to $4.819. It is 2.8 cents less than one week ago, 8.4 cents lower than one month ago and $1.431 below what it was one year ago.

The Orange County average price has dropped $1.64 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5.

The national average price dropped for the sixth consecutive day, decreasing seven-tenths of a cent to $3.549. It has dropped 3.5 cents over the past six days, including eight-tenths of a cent Wednesday.

The national average price is 3.5 cents less than one week ago, 3.3 cents lower than one month ago and $1.319 below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.467 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
