A 40-year-old man who was riding a motorcycle when he crashed near a freeway intersection close to Willowbrook was identified Thursday. The County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner identified the rider as Emmanuel Mercado.
Officers from the California Highway Patrol responded at 12:18 a.m. Wednesday to the intersection of the northbound Harbor (110) Freeway and the eastbound Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway regarding the crash, CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig told City News Service.
Mercado was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
The CHP issued a SigAlert for the closure of all lanes of the transition road from the northbound 110 freeway to the eastbound 105 freeway for an unknown duration while they investigated the circumstances surrounding the crash, Kravig said.
