A woman was killed and another person was injured Saturday in a multi-vehicle crash on the Foothill (210) Freeway near Glendale.
California Highway Patrol officers responded at 1:21 a.m. Saturday to the westbound freeway at Lowell Avenue, where they found several vehicles involved, including a Nissan Pathfinder on its side, CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig told City News Service.
Paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene, where they pronounced a vehicle occupant dead. She was later identified as 43-year-old Erika De La Riva, according to the Medical Examiner’s office. Her city of residence was not provided.
The CHP reported that paramedics rushed at least one person to a hospital. ABC7 reported that person’s condition to be critical.
A SigAlert, issued at 1:42 a.m. closing all lanes of the westbound freeway at Lowell Avenue for an unknown duration, was canceled at 6:46 a.m., according to the CHP.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
