An 80-year-old man and a pet were killed Sunday in a house fire in East Hollywood, authorities said.
Firefighters arrived around 3 p.m. Sunday to the one-story house at 1323 Kenmore Ave. and knocked down the fire in 22 minutes, according to the Los Angeles City Fire Department.
The man and the pet were both confirmed dead on the scene, but no further details were immediately available.
The LAFD said traffic in the area would be affected for an extended period of time, and motorists were encouraged to find alternate routes.
