A makeshift memorial Tuesday marks the spot in Playa del Rey where a 36-year-old pregnant woman riding a bicycle with her family was struck and killed by a vehicle in a crash that also took the life of the child she carried.
The crash happened at about 6 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Pershing Drive and Manchester Avenue.
Regan Cole-Graham, who was seven months pregnant with her third child, a girl, was riding with her husband and two children when she was hit by a vehicle whose driver stopped as required by law.
Cole-Graham’s daughter was delivered, but died in the neonatal intensive care unit at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital, according to a GoFundMe page launched to help the woman’s husband with funeral expenses and to assist the children.
Cole-Graham had worked for Google since 2019, according to her LinkedIn page. She was a consumer marketing lead for 2019-23 and a brand partnerships lead since 2023. In the latter position, she started brand partnerships for Google Pixel spanning music, fashion, and sports. Her notable partnerships included Live Nation, Goldenvoice, the National Women’s Soccer League and McLaren, as well as music artists and sports talent.
She previously worked for as a senior product marketing manager for AT&T and marketing manager at DirecTV,
Her husband, Matt Graham, told the California Post Tuesday that Cole-Graham was an “amazing wife” and “the world’s best mother.”
As of about 6 p.m. Tuesday, $191,137 had been raised toward a goal of $210,000.
Neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected as factors in the crash, police said.
“This case really represents one of the most profound losses imaginable,” the family’s attorney, Brian Breiter, told the Post on Tuesday. “It’s hard for me to even wrap my head around it.
“This is the hardest time anyone could imagine, and I just want them to be together. Imagine a 3-year old little boy and an 18-month-old child witnessing that?”
