Overnight lane and ramp closures are coming to the southbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway beginning Friday, this time in the Pico Rivera area, as a repaving and rehabilitation project continues.

The closures, between Slauson Avenue and Telegraph Road, will start Friday at 10 p.m. and extend through early Monday.

According to Caltrans, only one southbound lane will be open from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Saturday. Southbound lanes will be reduced to two lanes from 4 a.m. Saturday until 11 p.m. Sunday, and only a single lane will be open between 11 p.m. Sunday and 5 a.m. Monday, when the lane reductions cease.

In addition, the Telegraph Road off-ramp from the southbound 605 will be closed from 7 a.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday. The Telegraph Road on-ramp will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

The on-ramp from eastbound Slauson Avenue will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday and the off-ramp to westbound Slauson will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

The exit to westbound Washington Boulevard will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday and the on-ramp from westbound Washington will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Last, the eastbound Washington Boulevard on-ramp will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday.

Caltrans advises that more extended weekend closures will take place on the 605 through the rest of 2026 for the ongoing $260 million Super 605 Freeway Corridor Project to rehabilitate I-605 from Long Beach to the San Gabriel Valley.
