Authorities Tuesday released the name of a pedestrian who was fatally injured in a hit-and-run crash in the Winnetka section of the West San Fernando Valley.

The collision occurred at approximately 10 p.m. on April 10. A black Toyota Prius traveling south on Winnetka Avenue struck the man, later identified by the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office as Angel Corado of Canoga Park, as he was crossing outside a marked crosswalk at Winnetka and Sherman Way, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The driver did not stop, leaving the man in the roadway, where he was then struck by a second vehicle described as a black Chevrolet Camaro, police said. The driver of the Camaro also fled the scene without stopping to render aid or identify themselves as required by law, according to police.

Vehicle parts were recovered at the scene to help identify the suspect vehicles.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the victim to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

“Motorists are reminded that if they are involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves,” the police department said in a statement.

A reward of up to $50,000 was being offered for information leading to the identity, arrest and conviction of the suspects.

Anyone with information regarding the fatal collision was urged to contact the Valley Traffic Division at 818-644-8025. Calls during non-business hours should be directed to 877-527-3247. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or visit lacrimestoppers.org.
