Producer Lynette Howell Taylor has been re-elected president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the organization announced Wednesday.
Howell Taylor was re-elected by the Academy’s Board of Governors and will begin her second one-year term as president, according to the Academy.
Under Academy rules, a president may serve up to four consecutive one-year terms.
The board also elected its 2026-27 officers:
— Lesley Barber was re-elected vice president and will continue to chair the Membership Committee;
— Jennifer Fox was re-elected vice president and will chair the Awards Committee;
— Lou Diamond Phillips was re-elected vice president and will continue as chair of the Equity and Inclusion Committee;
— Howard A. Rodman was re-elected vice president and secretary and will chair the Governance Committee; and
— David Dinerstein was elected vice president and treasurer, his first officer position.
“We are so deeply grateful to Lynette, Lesley, David, Jennifer, Lou and Howard for their commitment to the Academy and to our global film community,” Academy CEO Bill Kramer said in a statement. “As we move toward our 100th anniversary, I am excited to continue our vital work with the Board and these exceptional Board officers to support our members, the industry and the Academy’s mission and programs.”
A member of the Academy’s Producers Branch since 2014, Howell Taylor has produced more than 25 films over the past two decades. She received a best picture Oscar nomination for producing “A Star Is Born,” and her credits also include “The Accountant,” “The Accountant 2,” “Captain Fantastic,” “Big Eyes,” “Blue Valentine” and “Half Nelson.”
She also produced the 92nd Academy Awards ceremony in 2020 alongside Stephanie Allain, earning an Emmy nomination.
The Academy’s Board of Governors is responsible for setting the organization’s strategic vision, overseeing its financial health and ensuring fulfillment of its mission.
