A motorcyclist was killed during a single-vehicle crash on a freeway transition road in South Los Angeles, authorities said Tuesday.
The crash occurred about 11:20 p.m. Monday on the transition road linking the eastbound Century (105) Freeway to the southbound Harbor (110) Freeway, said California Highway Patrol Officer Mike Nasir.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, Nasir said.
A SigAlert closing the transition a little before midnight was cancelled at 2:19 a.m.
The motorcyclist was on the transition road when his bike struck something on the road and ejected him from the vehicle, according to a source at the scene. The motorcyclist fell more than 50 feet landing in the parking lot of a Metro station at 117th Street and Figueroa Avenue.
There was no other immediate information.
