A motorcyclist was killed Sunday when he swerved to avoid another vehicle, struck a curb and was ejected from the bike, police said.

The crash was about 1:15 p.m. on Anaheim Boulevard near Lincoln Avenue, said Anaheim police Lt. Bob Dunn.

The rider had been southbound on Anaheim Boulevard, apparently at a fast speed, and took evasive action when a vehicle entered the boulevard near Adele Street, Dunn said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, the lieutenant said.

“He landed some distance away on the sidewalk,” Dunn said.

The bike continued a short distance and struck a parked car, he said.

Witnesses said the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed, Dunn said.

One vehicle stopped at the scene but another did not, he said, adding that it was unclear if the driver of the vehicle that left even saw the motorcyclist go down.

No one was arrested or cited pending further investigation, Dunn said.
