Authorities sought the public’s help Friday to find Zacariyah Breaux, a 3-month-old boy who went missing earlier this week from the area of South Western Avenue and Imperial Highway in Los Angeles.
Zacariyah Breaux was last seen on around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday and was believed to be with Eunyque Breaux, 28, according to the California Highway Patrol, which issued an Amber Alert early Friday morning on behalf of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, classifying the case as “child abducted/taken.”
However, later Friday morning, the CHP deactivated the Amber Alert and referred inquiries to the sheriff’s department.
A sergeant at the sheriff’s South Los Angeles Station told City News Service the case had been downgraded to a missing-person investigation for both parties — who remain missing — and there was no apparent crime involved. No other details were released.
Zacariyah is 22 inches tall, weighs 10 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes.
Eunyque Breaux is Black, 5 feet, 4 inches tall, weighs 130 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes. She is believed to be on foot.
It is unknown what, if any relation, she has to Zacariyah. Anyone who sees them is asked to call 911.
