The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Wednesday for the eighth time in nine days, decreasing 1.3 cents to $4.653.
The average price has dropped 6.3 cents over the past nine days, including 1.3 cents Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It dropped six consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent Monday and resumed decreasing Tuesday.
The average price is 5.1 cents less than one week ago and 8.8 cents lower than one month ago but 8.2 cents more than one year ago. It has decreased $1.84 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price also dropped for the eighth time in nine days, decreasing 1.8 cents to $4.604. It has fallen 8.2 cents over the past nine days, including 2 cents Tuesday. It dropped six consecutive days, was unchanged Monday and resumed falling Tuesday.
The Orange County average price is 6.7 cents less than one week ago and 10.2 cents lower than one month ago but 11.5 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.854 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price increased 1.8 cents to $3.066, one day after rising 1.1 cents, its first increase since Oct. 1 when it rose 1 cent. The average price then dropped 17 of the next 18 days, a run of decreases only interrupted when it was unchanged on Oct. 6.
The national average price is one-tenth of a cent less than one week ago, 11.8 cents lower than one month ago and 9.7 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.95 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
