A gradual warming trend is expected in Riverside County through Thanksgiving, forecasters said Sunday.
“Wednesday and Thursday will be the warmest days, with daytime high temperatures in the low deserts, valleys and coastal areas reaching the 70s to low 80s,” the National Weather Service announced.
The downtown Riverside and Temecula Valley areas were expected to reach a high of 71 on Monday before shooting up to 77 by Tuesday and as high as 79 Wednesday and Thanksgiving Day.
Forecasters predicted Hemet to be slightly warmer than Riverside and Temecula with high temperatures of 71 Monday and 78 Tuesday, shooting up to 80 by Thanksgiving Day.
In the Palm Springs area, temperatures are predicted to reach 74 on Monday, and 80 Tuesday through Thanksgiving Day. The Coachella Valley was also expected to reach a high of 74 Monday and 79 Tuesday through Thanksgiving Day.
According to the NWS, offshore pressure gradients were expected to bring Santa Ana winds Tuesday through Thanksgiving Day with the strongest winds expected Wednesday.
“Northeast to east winds gusting 35 to 50 mph in the wind-prone areas of the passes/canyons and coastal slopes” were predicted.
“For Friday into next weekend the ridge of high pressure will be weakened and displaced by an extensive area of low pressure. This will bring a return of cooler, unsettled weather with onshore flow, high humidity and chances for widespread precipitation next Saturday and Sunday,” the NWS added.
