The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose 4.2 cents Saturday to $5.798, its highest amount since Oct. 14, 2023.

The average price has risen 30 of the past 31 days, increasing $1.179, including 3.9 cents Friday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 23.6 cents more than one week ago, $1.148 more than one month ago and $1.149 more than one year ago. It is 69.6 cents less than the record $6.494 set on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price rose 4.7 cents to $5.768, its highest amount since Oct. 10, 2023. It has risen 52 consecutive days, increasing $1.525, including 3.4 cents Friday.

The Orange County average price is 23.8 cents more than one week ago, $1.175 more than one month ago and $1.157 more than one year ago. It is 69.1 cents less than the record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

Prices were rising slightly in line with seasonal norms before the joint U.S./Israel attack on Iran on Feb. 28 sent oil prices higher and drastically accelerated increases at the gas pump.

The national average price rose 1.3 cents to $3.925, its highest amount since Aug. 18, 2022. It has risen for 21 consecutive days, increasing 94.3 cents, including 2.8 cents Friday.

The national average price is 25 cents more than one week ago, 79 cents more than one month ago and 79.6 cents more than one year ago. It is $1.091 less than the record $5.016 set on June 14, 2022.
