The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County was unchanged Friday for the fourth time in five days, remaining at $4.60.
The average price is six-tenths of a cent less than one week ago but 16.7 cents more than one month ago and 17.2 cents higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.
The average price was unchanged Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. It dropped a half-cent Wednesday.
The average price has dropped $1.773 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
“It’s unclear whether the upward trend for gas prices is over, because wholesale Los Angeles gasoline prices have risen slightly in recent days,” Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager, said in a statement Thursday.
The national average price dropped for the seventh time in seven days, decreasing nine-tenths of a cent to $3.148. It has dropped 5.5 cents over the past eight days, including six-tenths of a cent Thursday. The national average price decreased three consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent Monday then resumed dropping Tuesday.
The national average price is 5.1 cents less than one week ago, 3.8 cents lower than one month ago and 7.2 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.868 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
