The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped Saturday for the 11th time in 12 days, falling nine-tenths of a cent to $4.524.
The average price is 5.7 cents less than one week ago and 7.6 cents less than one month ago, but 11.1 cents more than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.849 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
“Oil Price Information Service and the California Energy Commission reported on Wednesday that California refinery production and gasoline inventory have risen in the past week, helping to put downward pressure on gas prices,” Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager, said in a statement earlier this week.
The national average price fell nine-tenths of a cent to $3.059. It is 1.8 cents more than one week ago, but 9.9 cents less than one month ago and 8.5 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.957 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
