The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped Sunday for the 12th time in 13 days, falling 1.2 cents to $4.632.
The average price has dropped 13.6 cents over the past 13 days, including 1.3 cents Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It is 6.5 cents less than one week ago, but 9.2 cents more than one month ago and 29.8 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.741 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
“Oil Price Information Service reported late last week that California refinery gasoline production has rebounded after a downturn related to refinery maintenance,” Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager, said in a statement released Thursday. “This price drop comes just in time for the nearly six million Southern Californians who are planning to drive to Thanksgiving holiday getaways next weekend.”
The national average price dropped seven-tenths of a cent to $3.072. It is the same as one week ago, one-tenth of a cent more than one month ago and 1.4 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.944 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
