The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County resumed dropping Monday, falling four-tenths of a cent to $4.163, one day after a three-day streak of decreases totaling 2.5 cents ended with an increase of 1.8 cents.

The average price is 1.4 cents less than one week ago, 29.5 cents lower than one month ago and 14.7 cents below what it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price has dropped $2.21 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price extended its streak of decreases to five consecutive days, dropping two-tenths of a cent to $2.812. It has dropped 2.7 cents over the past five days, including six-tenths of cent Sunday.

The streak of decreases follows back-to-back increases totaling 1.4 cents.

The national average price is 1.3 cents less than one week ago, 16.6 cents lower than one month ago and 24.9 cents below what it was one year ago, It has dropped $2.204 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
