A person was killed Sunday morning during a single-vehicle, fiery crash on the Escondido (215) Freeway in Perris, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 4:10 a.m. on the southbound freeway, north of the Ramona Expressway, where a gray sedan struck a pole on the right shoulder and caught fire, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A representative from the coroner’s office was dispatched to the scene at 4:24 a.m.
The CHP issued a SigAlert at 4:35 a.m. closing the Nos. 1, 2 and 3 lanes of the southbound freeway.
There was no other immediate information available.
