A warming trend kicks off Sunday across Riverside County, with temperatures expected to climb into the mid-80s in western Riverside County and the low 90s in the eastern area by Friday.

Sunday’s highs will reach the mid-70s in downtown Riverside, Temecula and Hemet, while the Coachella Valley and Palm Springs will get up to 80 degrees.

“A ridge of high pressure aloft will dominate the weather over SoCal and daytime temperatures will steadily rise,” the National Weather Service said about this week’s forecast.

By Friday, those highs will be in the mid-to-upper 80s west of the mountains and in the low 90s in the lower deserts, 12 to 18 degrees above seasonal averages, forecasters added.

No rain is currently in the forecast for this week, but a small potential for precipitation is showing for next weekend, according to the NWS.
