A former Denver Broncos linebacker and special teams player has tentatively settled his lawsuit against the owners of SoFi Stadium in which he alleged he suffered a severe knee injury after tripping on a cable during a game against the Chargers in 2022.

Aaron Patrick, 28, sued StadCo LA LLC, alleging they were negligent for sideline conditions, which led to a season-ending ACL injury.

On Monday, Patrick’s attorney filed court papers with Torrance Superior Court Judge Douglas Stern notifying him of a “conditional” settlement in the case with the expectation a request for dismissal will be filed by April 25. No terms were divulged.

The injury occurred on October 17, 2022, during a Monday Night Football overtime loss to the Chargers at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.

According to the suit brought in November 2022, Patrick was trying to tackle a Charges punt returner and suffered the injury when his left foot stepped onto mats and/or cords/cables and fell awkwardly.

Patrick was waived by the Broncos in August 2023.
