USC received the ninth seed in the Sacramento 2 region Sunday and will face eighth-seeded Clemson on Saturday in a first-round game at Columbia, South Carolina.
The Trojans (17-13) enter the tournament with a four-game losing streak that followed a six-game winning streak. The Tigers (21-11) have lost two of their last three.
This will be the first meeting between the teams.
The 12:30 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time game will be televised by ESPN2.
The USC-Clemson winner will face the winner of the game between top-seeded South Carolina and the winner of Thursday’s First Four game between Samford and Southern on March 23.
The women’s tournament has two regional sites where two regional finals both occur, whereas the men’s tournament has four regional sites where one regional final occurs.
