The Culver City Police Department has produced the winner of the toughest dog competition from the Las Vegas Metropolitan K-9 Trials for the second consecutive year, the department announced Monday.

Officer Kamakani Crosby and his dog partner, Kohu, also finished first in tactical obedience, fourth in explosive detection and third overall among the field of more than 80 teams in the two-day scenario-based competition that concluded Sunday in Las Vegas.

Kohu is the youngest dog in the department’s K-9 Unit and its newest member. The 2-year-old serves as an explosives-detection officer.

Officer Jason Salazar and his partner Storm won in the toughest dog category last year.
