A Silver Alert was activated Monday after an at-risk 83-year-old man last seen in Long Beach was reported missing.
Luther Washington was last seen at approximately 11 a.m. Monday near Atlantic Avenue and Villa Park, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Long Beach Police Department.
Washington was described as a 5-foot-8-inch-tall Black man with brown hair and eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, jeans and a gray cap.
Authorities believe that Washington is traveling in a black 2013 Toyota Avalon with California license plate F457B0.
Anyone with information regarding Washington’s whereabouts was urged to call 911.
The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
