A 46-year-old woman who was killed in a crash on the Golden State (5) Freeway in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles was identified Wednesday by county authorities.
The crash was reported at 3:40 a.m. Monday on the southbound Golden State Freeway just north of Main Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The victim was identified by the County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner as Heather Gow.
The CHP’s online log indicated there was a van on the right shoulder and someone was out of the van.
According to the CHP, Gow was involved in an accident and died on the freeway, CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig told City News Service.
The CHP issued a Sigalert at 3:59 a.m. shutting down all southbound lanes except the fast lane and diverting all traffic off at Broadway.
One lane was reopened around 5 a.m. and the other two were reopened about 6:55 a.m., according to the CHP.
