A Los Angeles-based high school soccer coach was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of sexually assaulting an underage victim in Westminster.

Michael Avila, 20, of Norwalk, was arrested on suspicion of molesting the victim in February in the 13500 block of Edward Street, according to Westminster police Cmdr. Andy Stowers. He declined to say whether the victim was a boy or a girl.

Avila coaches at a high school in Los Angeles, Stowers said. He was arrested in Norwalk Tuesday on suspicion of lewd acts with a child, contacting a minor with the intent to commit a sex offense, unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, and possession of child pornography, Stowers said.
