“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” easily kept its box office crown, pulling in $70 million in its third weekend in North American theaters, according to industry estimates released Sunday.
The latest entry in the comic book-based franchise, which stars Tom Holland and Zendaya, has now grossed over $785 million domestically, Rentrak reported.
“The Odyssey” was second with $23.2 million Friday through Sunday in its fifth weekend. It has grossed over $504 million domestically.
“The End of Oak Street,” a science fiction adventure starring Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor, opened with $21 million.
Fourth place went to “PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie,” which opened with $20.5 million. It was followed by “KATSEYE: Wild Hearts,” a documentary about the Los Angeles-based girl group, which opened with $4 million.
Rounding out the top 10 releases were “SIX: The Musical Live!” ($3 million), “The Brink of War” ($2.6 million), “Toy Story 5” ($2.3 million), “One Night Only” ($2 million) and “Vishwanath & Sons” ($1.6 million).
