The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose for the 12th consecutive day Sunday, increasing seven-tenths of a cent to $5.742.
The average price has risen 10 cents over the past 12 days, including 2 cents Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 6.8 cents more than one week ago, 4.1 cents more than one month ago and $1.117 more than one year ago.
The average price has increased $1.048 since the start of the joint U.S./Israel attack on Iran on Feb. 28, which sent oil prices higher and drastically accelerated increases at the gas pump.
The Orange County average price also rose for the 12th straight day, increasing 1.2 cents to $5.717. It has risen 14.2 cents over the past 12 days, including 2.9 cents Saturday.
The Orange County average price is 8.6 cents more than one week ago, 6.3 cents more than one month ago and $1.124 more than one year ago. It has increased $1.081 since the start of the attack on Iran.
The national average price dropped three-tenths of a cent to $4.078. It is 2 cents less than one week ago and 2 cents less than one month ago, but 88.6 cents more than one year ago.
The national average price has increased $1.096 since the attack on Iran. It is at its highest amount this late in the calendar year, according to Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, which provides real-time gas price information from more than 150,000 stations.
