An SUV that was reported stolen in Redlands was chased by California Highway Patrol officers into Los Angeles County Tuesday.
The CHP took over the chase from Redland police at about 1:20 p.m. Tuesday, an officer said.
The early 2000s model Toyota Rav4 sped along the westbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway with units in pursuit until about 2 p.m., when the man at the wheel of the silver vehicle tried to exit in Alhambra, but clipped another vehicle on the off-ramp and skidded to a stop after taking out a traffic sign.
The driver of the sedan that was hit did not appear to be seriously injured.
The suspect, who was the sole occupant of the SUV, then surrendered to officers.
