One man was recovering in a hospital Wednesday after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run collision in Palmdale.
The man was struck by a vehicle around 10:59 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of 6th Street East and Avenue Q-6, a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson said.
The man suffered minor injuries in the collision and was in a stable condition before arriving at the hospital, the sheriff’s department said.
The driver of the vehicle, described as a dark colored Nissan sedan, fled the scene in the vehicle, authorities said.
Further details on the suspect and their vehicle were not immediately available.
A sheriff’s deputy said the victim possibly placed himself in front of the vehicle on purpose before the collision, but could not confirm the circumstances of the collision.
Video from the scene shows the man lying in the street unresponsive with blood on his face while Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel provide him oxygen and perform life saving measures.
Reports from the scene indicated that the victim and the driver confronted each other before the driver turned the car around and struck the victim intentionally. Official details on the circumstances of the collision were not immediately available.
