Visitors will have a chance to get an up-close look at the iconic Rose Parade floats Saturday when Floatfest returns to Pasadena, offering a two-mile viewing experience.

The annual event draws nearly 70,000 visitors who walk within a few feet of the elaborately decorated floats along Sierra Madre and Washington boulevards, organizers said. The public can examine the craftsmanship, floral detail and mechanical artistry that define the New Year’s Day tradition.

Floatfest runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine, with last tickets sold at 2:30 p.m. and final entry at 3 p.m.

Admission is $26.50 per person, while children 5 and under are admitted free. Advance tickets are available through the Sharp Seating Company at sharpseating.com/.

In addition to the float showcase, the family-friendly event will feature live entertainment, food trucks, a large video wall and a beer and wine garden with a full-service bar, organizers said.

A dedicated Food Fare area at Gate A in the showcase lot on Sierra Madre Boulevard will offer a variety of menu options from local food trucks.

Parking will be available via shuttle service from Pasadena City College, with pickup locations at 1570 E. Colorado Blvd., Lot 3, and 3035 E. Foothill Blvd.
