Light rain fell across parts of the Southland Thursday as a low pressure system brought wet weather and cooler temperatures to the region.

Overall, rain was light in most of the area, with generally less than one-tenth of an inch falling, according to the National Weather Service.

The threat of rain was expected to be gone by Friday morning, with dry conditions anticipated through the weekend. The clouds that covered most of the Southland Thursday were also expected to clear out on Friday, giving way to mostly clear skies through Sunday, although there will be a chance of some marine layer and fog near the coast.

“As for temperatures, (Thursday) will be the coolest day,” according to the NWS. “There will be some very subtle warming through the weekend, but temperatures will only be hovering near seasonal normals by Sunday.”
