Pasadena Police used a “PIT maneuver” to nudge the back of a stolen car and cause it to spin out during a chase Saturday.
The nine-minute pursuit began at 3:08 p.m. at the intersection of Fair Oaks Avenue and Washington Boulevard, when a license plate reader returned a hit on a stolen Honda Accord, said Pasadena Police Lt. John Mercado.
At the intersection of Euclid Avenue and Thurgood Marshall Street, an officer in a squad car nudged the escaping car, causing it to stop. The cruiser hit a curb.
The Honda’s driver, a man in his 40s, was the only one inside it. He was not hurt, and was to be booked on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle and either misdemeanor or felony evading, Mercado said.
