A young man who fell off a cliff in San Pedro was pronounced dead Thursday night after firefighters pulled him from heavy surf.
The victim was seen falling off the cliff at about 8:05 p.m. in the 800 block of West Paseo del Mar, according to Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Units searched for the victim on the ground and from the sea and air before he was found and placed aboard a fire department boat, Scott said.
Firefighters rendered aid while taking the man to a nearby fire station, but he succumbed to his injuries, Scott said.
