A 30-year-old man whose body was found in an unplugged refrigerator behind a home in Sun Valley where police were investigating a marijuana plantation died from a gunshot wound to the head, the coroner’s office reported Thursday.

The Los Angeles County coroner’s office identified him as Andranik Tadzhikyan of Van Nuys.

Tadzhikyan’s body was found about 5:30 a.m. Sunday in the 11100 block of Runnymeade Street, said Officer Mike Lopez of the LAPD’s Media Relations Section.

The home was being used as an illegal marijuana operation, Lopez said.

Police received a phone tip about the property earlier Sunday morning and found the body stuffed into a black garbage bag inside the refrigerator, police said.

It is believed the body had been there for several days.

No arrests in the case have been reported.
