A pedestrian was killed Saturday morning in Harvard Heights in central Los Angeles after he was struck by two vehicles, one of which fled.

The hit-and-run was reported at 12:10 a.m. at the intersection of Western Avenue and Cambridge Street, near Venice Boulevard, where the man was struck while crossing in an unmarked crosswalk, according to Sgt. Dennis Diviak of the Los Angeles Police Department‘s West Traffic Division.

The man died at the scene, Diviak said.

One driver remained and was cooperating in the investigation but it wasn’t immediately clear whether that’s the driver who stayed struck the man first.

Information on the suspect vehicle was not immediately available.
