A big rig crashed Wednesday on a freeway overpass in Acton, injuring the driver and leaving one of the truck’s trailers hanging to an embankment below.
The wreck was reported about 1:40 p.m. on the Ward Avenue overpass above the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Michele Bond.
The driver was taken to a hospital, but his condition was not immediately available, authorities said.
An image from the scene showed the cab of the rig on an embankment beneath one of its two empty trailers, which was hanging from the overpass railing to the ground.
It was not immediately clear what caused the crash.
