A 6-year-old girl was the unintended victim of a shooting when she was wounded in a foot in South Los Angeles, authorities said.
It happened about 7 p.m. Saturday at Manchester Avenue and Broadway, according to Sgt. J. Salazar of the Los Angeles Police Department‘s Southeast Station.
“She was an innocent bystander who was walking in a bad area,” Salazar said. “Some type of altercation occurred and a car shot at somebody.”
The girl was taken to a hospital, where her vital signs were stable, Salazar said. There were no other injuries.
Both the would-be victim and the shooter fled the scene, he said.
