Los Angeles Department firefighters quickly extinguished a fire Friday evening at a vacant restaurant in Sun Valley.
Fire crews were called at 9:53 p.m. to 8022 N. Vineland Ave. between Strathern Street and Sunland Boulevard where they encountered heavy flames at the 7,000 square-foot building, said Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.
The flames had gone through the roof of the combination one- and two-story structure, he said.
It took 36 firefighters 23 minutes to put out the fire.
No injuries were reported.
