A 38-year-old man was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in prison for molesting two girls, including one he coached in softball.
Diego Armando Bautista pleaded guilty Feb. 26 to two felony counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a minor younger than 14. Orange County Superior Court Judge Andre Manssourian ordered him to register as a sex offender for 20 years and gave him credit for 2,181 days behind bars.
Bautista, who lived with one of the girls, molested her when she was 8 in 2015, according to prosecutors.
Bautista was charged with molesting the other girl, starting when she was 10 at the end of 2016 while staying at a family cabin in Crestline, prosecutors said.
On Jan. 10, 2019, one of the victims — when she was 13 — came forward to Orange County sheriff’s deputies alleging that Bautista had been molesting her for more than three years in Stanton, according to Carrie Braun, a spokeswoman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
