A man who was found shot in the parking lot of a Buena Park gas station died at a hospital Saturday and police are seeking the suspects who are responsible.

The victim, identified as 24-year-old Maher Yousef of La Mirada, was found at 10:30 p.m. Friday near a car at a Mobil Mini-Mart and gas station at the intersection of Beach and Artesia boulevards, according to Sgt. Mike Lovchik with the Buena Park Police Department.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition where he later died.

Multiple people were seen fleeing the area on foot shortly after the shooting, but no arrests have been made, Lovchik said.

Detectives are looking into the possibility of robbery as a motive for the shooting, he added.

A description of the suspects was not immediately available.
