Firefighters quickly extinguished an attic fire Saturday in a house in the Vermont-Slauson area of Los Angeles.

The fire inside the home at 1328 W. 59th St. was reported at 3:13 p.m., said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.

The department dispatched 31 firefighters to the scene and knocked down the flames in about 10 minutes, she said.

The house was vacant and appeared to be undergoing a renovation, Stewart continued.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
